Page alignment during barcode printing?

» close window

The Question is:

Dear Wizard,

I have a question regarding BARCODE printing on LG12 & LA400 printers.

Is there a difference between how the two printers handle the DECBAR (Stop
Barcoding) escape sequence?

We have an application that generates output containing
<DECBAR><DECSBCA><data><DECBAR> sequences (once per page). This output when
sent to an LG12 printer works correctly, but on the LA400 we are noticing
'page creep'. After several pages page alignment
is lost.

We resent the file to the LA400 printer having first removed all BARCODE
sequences, and the 'page creep' disappeared: the barcode data prints on the
same line, on every page.

I can only assume that the difference is that the LG12 implementation of
barcodes somehow retains printer states before and after the sequence,
whilst on the LA400, this has to be programmed for. Is this correct?
