Diagnosing a PROCGONE Bugcheck?

» close window

The Question is:

I am trying to install the Y2K kit -
ALPY2K01_062 on a VMS cluster. The ALPCLUSIO01_062 kit is already
installed.

The cluster does not start up after installation on the Alpha server 1000 -
do I need a BIOS (or equivalent) upgrade for this unit.

What happens is that after the Open VMS banner appears but before any other
messages I get a PROCGONE - Process gone bugcheck and memory dump.

Jim

The Answer is :

Contact the OpenVMS Customer Support Center for assistance in
debugging the PROCGONE error -- details and the contents of the
crashdump (if any) and particularly R0 will be required.

One of the potential causes of a PROCGONE bugcheck is a severely
  fragmented system disk...

As for the recommended firmware for OpenVMS Alpha V6.2, please
check the firmware website for details. (See the FAQ...)
