The Question is:

 
I4m runnig Oracle 7.3.4.3.0 and when I shutdown de Database, proccesses like
 ORA_<sid>pid remains. My question is :
 
DO VMS really realizes those proccesses are dead. If oracle send a signal to
 the Operating system in order to cancel that proccess, I wonder who finally
 have the control about it.
