AlphaServer DS10 crash, console access?

» close window

The Question is:

I'm having trouble logging/releasing the OPA0: console on an Alpha Server
DS-10. According to the manual [CNTRL] and F5 should release it, but it
doesn't. When the machine crashes the console does not show the usual >>>
prompt where one would normally typ
e boot, so we have to switch it off and on to get the machine up.
Why is it being so difficult ?
Thanks,
Andrew

The Answer is :

Please contact Compaq Customer Services or your hardware vendor, it
would appear you have one or more software and/or hardware problems
with your AlphaServer DS10 series system.

The F5 key is used to send a BREAK signal on various serial terminals,
and this assumes you have a serial console (see the FAQ) enabled.
