The Question is:

 
How do I monitor/watch data transfer between OpenVMS to an specific terminal
 server's (decserver 700) serial port?
 

The Answer is :

 
  Via a serial line data monitor (connected between the application and
  the DECserver) or via a network probe (connected to the network, rather
  obviously), most commonly.
 
  If you have control over the application, you can insert your own probe.
 
  Third-party "snooping" or "spying" products may or may not provide the
  necessary capabilities.  The OpenVMS FAQ has pointers to several of
