FTP Network Transfer Corrupts RMS File?

» close window

The Question is:

suggestions?

The Answer is :

The FTP network transfer has corrupted the file attributes.

Either do not transfer the file through an intermediate system, or take
steps to preserve the OpenVMS file attributes (use of a recent/current
zip tool with the -V option, use of a BACKUP saveset, etc) before and
after the network transfer, or configure DECnet-Plus and IP-based
networking and use OpenVMS file transfer tools, or use a tool such as
CONVERT/FDL to attempt to reset the file attributes based on the file
attributes associated with the input file (see ANALYZE/RMS/FDL).

The OpenVMS Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) has a related discussion
of repairing a corrupted BACKUP saveset.
